Dresden's Chamber

The Power of Standardization

The Dresden CCI is a self-administering organ of the economy with 92.000 members, mainly small and medium-sized enterprises. Her most important tasks are representing the overall interests of their members with regard to politics and public administrations, sovereign functions and service provision for the regional economy.

Standardization and shared data management are essential in the digitalization of organizations with multiple locations, not only for internal collaboration and exchange with partners, but also for the successful integration of modern technologies such as AI."

THE PROJECT

Goal

Implementation of a shared data management system to harmonize processes, data structures and IT landscapes

Description

The 79 chambers of industry and commerce (IHKs) in Germany have separate systems for managing data on their member companies, causing difficulties in collaboration and data maintenance. Together with IHK DIGITAL GmbH, the IHKs are currently implementing a shared data management system. IHK customers will benefit by ensuring reliable processes and a positive experience across all IHKs. This project lays the foundation for integrating modern technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), as AI systems rely on consistent and well-structured data to be effective.
